The kata and application of technique (bunkai) are performed by 10th degree Grandmaster Eizo Shimabukuro, as taught to him by the karate legends of Okinawa: Chotoku Kyan, Chogun Miyagi, Chosen Chibana, Zenryo Shimabukuro, Tatsuo Shimabukuro and Taira Shinken.

Toyei no Jujutsu is the defensive system created by Grandmaster Eizo Shimabukuro's life long study of martial arts.

These kata DVDs were created in 1999 when Grandmaster Shimabukuro was 76 years of age. The DVD of Toyei no Jujutsu was created in 2008 when Grandmaster Shimabukuro was 83 years of age. Assisting Grandmaster Shimabukuro with the bunkai and Jujutsu is Sheree Adams.

Old Grandmaster Stories

This book has now been released in English (the original Japanese is included). This book has the feel of sitting around the table during the evening and listening, mesmerized, as the Grandmaster tells stories about some of the most famous Karate masters of Okinawa. Some of the stories have never been published before. If you can't go to Okinawa, this will give you a taste of the experience or...fond memories.
